Once again we have some new faces around the office. If you see any of these lovely people make sure to say hi and show them some W+K Tokyo love.
“I’m Andrea Noti and studying graphic design at HKB (Hochschule der Kuenste Bern) and now taking a year off to get work experience in Berlin, Bern and Tokyo. I’m staying here at W+K in Tokyo till the end of July, doing an internship with Eric Cruz.”
“I’m Erika Nishizato. I received my MFA in graphic design from RISD in 2007, and worked with Barbara Glauber of Heavy Meta in New York after school, doing mostly print design. I’m in Tokyo on a Fulbright Graduate Research Fellowship for one year. My research has shifted from kawaii as a graphic visual language (the topic of my graduate thesis), to looking at the emphasis on ‘surface’ in Japan, female culture, and differing standards of beauty. Currently, I’m helping W+K Tokyo Lab on their next release.”
“My name is Paul Jenkins. I’m currently on a year out from my graphic design degree at LCC (London College of Communication) and have been interning and doing lots of other exciting creative things. W+K Tokyo is my 6th placement and I’m here in Japan for June+July.”
