Facebook: first campaign for the Japanese market

フェイスブック初 日本市場に向けたキャンペーンをローンチしました。
Excited to announce that we launched the Facebook’s first ever campaign for the Japanese market.


Based on the idea that the most important thing you can be is a friend, the campaign unveiled yesterday the first part of a multi-media Facebook campaign with the film “You Are Someone’s Friend”. The campaign extends to online, out of home, train stations, and the worlds-first integrated 5-screen experience at Shibuya crossing, as well as of course content on Facebook.

The campaign was created in Japan, for Japan, bringing to life insights about culture, people and friendships, all to create work that is both intimate and familiar.
The campaign film, “You’re someone’s friend,” was directed by Zachary Heinzerling, a 2014 Oscar nominated director for Best Documentary Feature, and the voiceover was performed by the actor Ryo Katsuji.

Hot on the heels of the Citizen global brand statement work, we are excited to announce our latest work in support of Citizen’s 2014 flagship watch.

地球上どのタイムゾーンでも最短3秒で宇宙からの時を受信する、2014年フラッグシップモデル「エコ・ドライブ サテライト ウエーブ F100」。この革新的機能を体現すべく、タイムゾーンを越えながら沈み行く夕日を追いかけ、同じ時に滞空するという試みに挑みました。
No matter where you are on earth, Citizen’s 2014 flagship model – the new Eco-Drive Satellite Wave F100 – adjusts to the current time zone in just three seconds. To demonstrate the watch’s unique ability, Citizen undertook this ambitious experiment to chase the horizon and endeavor to live in the same hour for as long as humanly possible.

ワイデン+ケネディーの東京とアムステルダムオフィスとの共同制作のもと、フォトグラファーのサイモン・ロバーツと元NATO パイロットのジョナサン・ニコルに、この挑戦をもちかけました。キャンペーンフィルムは、ドキュメンタリー監督として高い評価を受けるトリステン・パターソンが手がけ、今回の試みを描いています。
Created jointly by Wieden+Kennedy Tokyo and Amsterdam, Citizen’s first global campaign challenged photographer Simon Roberts and ex-NATO pilot Jonathan Nicol to chase the sunset across the Earth’s time zones. The short film by acclaimed documentary director, Tristan Patterson, portrays the story of the journey itself.
