Oh those social misfits of W+K Tokyo… The inner walls of GGG could simply not contain the energy we have. So we decided to take over the outer walls of GGG. Everyday between 1am-7am, the outer walls of GGG will transform into a moving canvas. Here is a preview of this transformation…

Wow, it was quite an experience to actually be in Ginza at this time of day. The locals still holdin up the age old tradition of Japanese entertainment on a friday night.

THE TIMELINE
To celebrate our 10 year history, we decided to show a historical overview of our work from 98-2008. The wall also features significant cultural events that happened in Japan, drawing a parallel between our work and the times we lived in.

THE OYKOT WALL
This time we’re drawing it for reals. Yup, we’re drawing this whole wall and turnin’ this mutha out in 3 days flat. Here’s to some all nighters at the gallery for Woog, Marek and Shuhei-hei. Word up brothas!!! Don’t forget to twist them wrists to prevent carpal-tunnel. We’ll see you Tres Musketeers in da mornin’.

W+K NAIL SOLIDARITY
W+K Toh-kee-yoh in da house! Today a few of us came in to symbolically hammer a few nails on the much debated NAIL ART WALL. Representin’ some true W+K brotherhood.

Never has such a project caused so much debate within the office than the OYKOT NAIL ART PROJECT! In fact we called a company wide meeting just to talk about what the phrase should say…

Ummm… No. u-uh, u-uh (with a head shake from Driscoll). How about…
I thought I told you that we won’t stop. I thought I tol’ you…

Less than 4 days to go . . . Lots of people scrambling around to get this
ggg thing up.

Tomorrow the nail mural team is going to start at 1pm to start putting in
4,500 nails needed to create the massive mural. If you can make some time
please drop by the gallery and put in a couple or a couple hundred in
solidarity. It’ll give you a chance to see and be part of the process of all
the work that’s being put in to get this show up.
