As part of a Bukatsu campaign for Nike, we created a digital keitai effort featuring Katsu-kun — a breaded pork cutlet character who encouraged kids to train via downloadable viral films. Breaded pork cutlet, “katsu,” is especially close to Bukatsu athletes’ hearts because it is traditionally eaten before important games for good luck and stamina. Katsu-kun also appeared on good luck charms, t-shirts and even as a mascot within major sports leagues in Japan.
